This has been a long time coming, and I'm thrilled to share my latest creation: the Poolside Tribe collection. I've been working on this 14k Gold Filled collection for years, crafting each piece by hand with freshwater pearls and 14k gold filled materials. I always need a stylish accompaniment to my active lifestyle and adoration for the water, which continues to fuel me to create this line for all of us.
A Touch of Home
My love for pearls stems from my roots. Growing up in coastal South Florida, I spent most of my time boating or in the water—scuba diving, swimming competitively, surfing, and even shucking oysters. Fast forward to my adult years, I found myself working as a first mate on a yacht in Santa Monica Bay. One day, fate led me to rescue a guest's hat, and a week later, Hailey Baldwin was wearing one of my pearl-adorned body chains on the Guess red carpet in Los Angeles, landing my piece in People Style magazine.
The Allure of Pearls
Pearls are making a comeback, and I believe they're here to stay. They're versatile, beautiful, and elegant. Designing with pearls is a joy because of their subtlety and timeless appeal. My wardrobe will always have a piece from this collection to style with any outfit.
Pearls: Nature's Miracle
I find it fascinating how pearls are made. An oyster creates a pearl to protect itself when something foreign, like sand, enters its shell. This resilience and strength resonate with me, especially after the tough times of 2020.
The Challenge of Gold-Filled Jewelry
In addition to my signature 14k Gold Filled Collection, I also have a 14k Solid Gold collection as well as a Runway collection. Working with gold filled materials can be challenging due to its creative limitations, but it's worth it. The durability of gold filled pieces means they can last for decades.
The Journey from 2020 to 2024
The pandemic changed everything, nearly flipping my business upside down. Moving from NYC to Florida and adjusting to the new normal was tough, but I'm resilient. Everytime I look at pearls, it reminds me of their resilience. Hence, this collection reflects that strength and resilience.
